With the version 3 patch our network ran into a snag. With a linksys router you can install the upgrade, login over wifi to set it up from the nocall screen and when it reboots it works. With a Bullet after you log in and setup the router from the nocall screen, it reboots but wont work till you cycle the power.

Our network consists of many routers owned by a couple of people but located all across 4 subdivisions. This leaves us in a position where we cant upgrade routers without scheduling with the owner of the property to cycle the power.

Is it possible to modify the firmware to do a power cycle at reboot?

Thanks

It already does.

Upstream (openwrt) has a report in their wiki that some times hardware just doesn't reboot with a reboot command.

I've never seen it personally so I can't really comment on what's going on there other than to say over 200+ flashes I don't belive I have ever had this happen to me.

Would be interesting if anyone can ever repeatedly reproduce this what the backend reports is happening.

EDIT:

Sorry noticed you had a distinction between a reboot and power cycle. No way to turn off power on hardware like this, no off switch inside them,  that is external (at the wall supply )

KG6JEI:

Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't do enough testing to verify the problem.  I will do more testing and report back.

This makes administering the network more doable.  I appreciate the help.
