I've skimmed through the forum, and see there are ways to recover "bricked" units. It's not immediately obvious to me whether it should be possible to use the "upgrade" feature to "downgrade" (Now that I've discovered V3 incompatibility with my 7 V1 nodes). I try it, but all it does is reset my browser connection. Is this something that should work? If not what is the fastest way to downgrade from V3 to V1? Joe, AG6QO

Thanks Daryl,
So, on the admin page when I select the file from my local drive and hit "Upload", the browser connection is reset and no file uploads. Is there something I am missing? |

you might try a different browser. IE/Firefox/Chrome/Safari.
I had odd issues on occasion with older version of Firefox (my primary browser), but, Chrome seemed to work fine. |

That did the trick. Old version of FF didn't work. Old version of IE did. (running an old XP laptop).
Thanks!

Hello Daryl and Group:
Following-up on your reply, with the right browser I can "downgrade" V1.0.0 over v1.1.2 using the ".bin" file and UPLOADing in the setup:admin page? I see ".trx files which say they are for "upgrade pf mesh nodes". Confused and don't want to "brick" my WRT54GSv4.
Thanks,

Hello Daryl:
Understood, thanks.
Yes, I have an existing 3-node mesh that is on v1.0.0 or v1.0.1. I tried to add a fourth node with v1.1.2 and none of the other three nodes can see the fourth or can be seen by the fourth. So, I want to take this fourth WRT54GSv4 back to v1.0.0 to bring it into the mesh.

That is the correct behavior. v1.0.0 used protocol v1, v1.1.2 used protocol v2, and v3.0.0 uses protocol v3. They are not interoperable. |
