Hello all,

I can't seem to upload a SSH key. No matter what I do it says it is not a valid key. It also displays "Info: key file sanitized." I am using puttygen with the default options to create the keys. Are there certain setting I should be using to create the keys? I am using the most current version of the firmware on a UBNT Bullet M2 and AirGrid M2. If you need any other info let me know.

Thanks,
KE8AVJ

confirming: you are trying to upload the public key, not the private key, right?

Correct. I am NOT uploading the file that ends in .ppk. Does the public key need the .pub extension? I have tried it with and without the .pub extension but get the same result. Thanks

I was able generate a key that was accepted on a linux system but when I upload the key it still says key file sanitized and the key does not show up in the "remove keys" drop down. When I ssh in to the node I am still asked for a password. I have attached a screenshot. Hope this additional info is helpful.

Thanks

I have been looking through the message boards and this does not seem to have a published solution. I have tried various key bit sizes and file extensions. I have also tried varying types of encryption. I have not tried to upload the key outside of the web interface, yet. Has there been any resolution to this? Glenn KG7IXA

Ok, with some help I have this figured out. The public key must be saved with a unix EOF "End of File", you have to copy and paste it into a a program like notepad++ which can have selected EOF types. Next, you evidently must have an "@" symbol in the key comment block.
