KTF, All, OpenWRT based 802.11 adhoc mode usage that we are running OLSR on top of in BBHN is only 802.11a and max possibility is 54Mbps of raw protocol bits back and forth. One would have to go to 802.11n modes to obtain the 40Mhz channels or MIMO dual spacial streams to be able to achieve a higher rate. OpenWRT (that BBHN is on top of) only has these rates implemented in 802.11 AP mode (not used by MESH) for atheros ath9k chipsets in Ubiquiti hardware.
Here's an example of the rate control algorithm under OpenWRT (Barrier Breaker newer version) of the rates in use from a live node. This node is finding 5.5Mbps as the optimal rate to use. Note max of 54Mbps. This is a NSM2. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2bEy75HhwWhRFVVRU56akNzWDg/view?usp=sharing Joe AE6XE at arrl.net |
