I'm happy to report a very successful use of HamNet with the San Juan Capistrano, CA RACES and CERT teams.    Joe Lopez WGBGR,  the local radio officer, myself, and several RACES members supported the San Juan Xmas tree lighting event.  This is an annual event which includes a high school marching band, singing groups, and much more through out the town center.    The tamales are my favorite.

With a combination of cams, nodes, trucks, poles, and cat5 cables (with special note to Don KE6BXT for loaning equipment), we assembled everything just in time.  The purpose was primarily to introduce HamNet as a technology for use to the city.

We setup a 5Ghz link from command central  (Sheriff, CERT, and RACES net control) to a down town parking garage using a couple of nanolocals.   The parking garage was a 2 story building and also had a a couple more 2.4Ghz links to nodes around town.   The coverage area was within a mile distance, but had many buildings, trees, and wifi noise that presented challenges.

Pic 1:  5G Nanolocal Node at command central -- the height of the node was critical.
Pic 2:  2 Nodes ( 5G Nanlocal DtDlink to Bullet M2) and Cam on top of the parking garage -- the video streaming aggregation point.

Pic 5:  The video displays.

For the entire evening we had 3 (yes THREE) simultaneous video streams on the displays with zero pixelation.  This was real time and constant smooth video.

The city stakeholders from sheriff through emergency planner were all very interested and asking to use HamNet for their largest event--the Swallows Parade, http://www.swallowsparade.com/ .
