UPDATED: 2/24/2014 with current needs

Much of what accounts for the differences between Ubiquiti devices is the way their antenna gain and power level is handled.  There is a data sheet in the filesystem of UBNT devices when they are running their factory operating system, AirOS, which identifies key parameters we need to add support for these devices.

The following table illustrates those that we need (red).  The others we don't need because we already have them or BBHN currently supports them (green), or we already have commitments from hams to provide them (yellow):

M2 M3 M365 M5
Pico HP
Nano Station
Nano Bridge
Nano Loco
Bullet HP
Rocket HP
AirGrid HP
Bullet HP Titanium
Rocket HP Titanium

So, if you have any of the devices in red, we are asking for your help in running the following procedure:
1) It must be running the AirOS.
2) Telnet or Putty into the node (default user is ubnt; password ubnt; default ip 192.168.1.20)
3) Run "cat /etc/board.info"
4) Save the resultant file and post it in response to this post.
As responses come in I'll continue to post periodic updates to this chart.

Thanks and 73,

I wish I had seen this post before I flashed my PicoM2HP with the Bullet factory .bin.  The PICO M2HP is running well except for - as you have requested - the antenna and power setting.  If I leave the antenna at "right" and the power at default of "16" dBm all appears OK.   When I tried to change from default - Pico appears to have shut down the RF interface.   Thanks for all your effort into getting the Ubiquiti FW up!

Well, I believe you've landed on the correct approach. By defaulting the power setting you've set it to full power. Sorry about the poor timing. The sooner we get the info on these, the sooner we'll be able to avoid the issue you've experienced. Andre, K6AH

For several days I have had a bullet and 4 WRTs running V1 FW and there was easy access by each node to a Raspberry Pi on one of the WRTs to access an email program. When the group got together today we had 4 WRTs (V1) and 2 BULLETS and one PICO running the V 1.0.1 FW. We changed the initial SSID from K6MPN-MESH to K6MPN-EMCOMM for the group test. Interestingly all the WRTs saw each other and all the Ubiquitis saw each other but there was no visibility between the U's and the WRTs ??? We had to change the SSIDs of all the nodes to K6MPNemcom (less than 10 characters) in order for the two groups to see each other and provide connections between groups.

Were they all on the same channel? U's will not change off the configured channel, but WRTs will. Andre

Yes, All on same channel, when SSIDs changed to 10 characters (had been more than 10 characters) - Us and Ws saw each other on the respective MESH STATUS screens. Only took us 2 hours to figure that out.

I have a pair of Airgrid M5 (can't remember if they're HP or not) but I'm on a business trp and won't return home till Saturday... will post the board.info stuff here when I get home.

I have a request on the 5GHz Stuff.  Can you set the channel up at around 5.910 GHz 20MHz wide... reason, I live near Eglin AFB and they've asked us to avoid transmitting between 5.65 and 5.90 GHz... I'm probably ok at 5.850 and higher but I'd like to avoid if possible.

Thanks Tom! That's a big help. It means the AirGrid will be in our upcoming M5 release.

We still need those in RED.  The others we don't need because we already have them (GREEN) or our BBHN firmware currently supports them (BLUE), or we already have commitments from hams to provide them (YELLOW):

Pico HP

Nano Bridge
Nano Loco
Bullet HP

Bullet HP Titanium
Rocket HP Titanium

So, if you have any of the devices in red, we are asking for your help in running the following procedure:
1) It must be running the AirOS.
2) Telnet or Putty into the node (default user is ubnt; password ubnt; default ip 192.168.1.20)
3) Run "cat /etc/board.info"

As responses come in I'll continue to post periodic updates to this chart.
