I also would like to recommend craigslist as well. Just search for "WRT54G*" and verify with the seller the correct version (http://hsmm-mesh.org/section-blog/37-hardware-faqs/101-supported-hardware.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G#WRT54G [check serial number with seller]). Now you got two ways to get meshing! :D

I just purchased a WRT54G v2 on eBay for $3 plus shipping. $12 in total. There are many more still on eBay.

I received an email today that NewEgg has brand new units for sales, with a rebate the cost is in the $30's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124190 Scott

I've found the last 4 or 5 WRT54G (S) (L) routers at thift stores, anywhere from 2 bucks to 7 bucks - 1 was bricked (easy fix), and 2 were not on the list of compatitable routers, but at the prices it didn't really matter, and they can still run DD-WRT.  The last two I found where in boxes not that even matters :-)  Just one more place to look.

Keep an eye out at the thrift stores for the wall warts off units that we can not use. Many of the stores do not keep the power supplies with the unit so they can charge two prices to get a full unit. If you get extra units there is somebody that can use it. Today I had extra 5 and 12 volt units and had people that needed them.

I am unable to locate recommended models in local thrift stores or on the local Craigslist. I do see some advertised on E-Bay that are purported to be the correct models, but the serial numbers do not begin with the recommended characters. Should I be concerned?
