The current release of HSMM-MESH(tm) firmware does not support Ubiquiti equipment.
Developers are working on porting the firmware to multiple other platforms, including Ubuiquiti. We have no release date for additional hardware platforms. We do not like to announce things before they are ready for general release but I will tell you,I own some Ubuiquiti equipment and like it.

You might try asking in the Ubiquiti forums: http://www.ubnt.com/forum. As you probably know, ubiquiti hardware comes with either openWRT or AirOS installed, the latter being firmware developed by Ubiquiti. So, you are more likely to find non-ham help on Ubiquiti's forums. |

If you are interested, check out the above projects and also check out the BattleMesh website. There is lots of information there. |

I will be porting hsmm-mesh to ubiquiti equipment as soon as I can get approved for svn read access. It seems counter-productive for an open and transparent hobby to have a very closed source development style. |

not sure, but it looks like the OP was "need to build wireless internet for low income people" which would not be covered in our realm of influence, but should be very much discouraged in this forum... (referring out to the ubiquity or other non amateur forums is okay though ;) ) |

FYI, the svn repository has been open for quite some time. Everything you need to build the firmware (for the wrt54g-ish routers) is contained within. It is simply the OpenWRT ImageBuilder package with the complete set of changes that turn it into Broadband Hamnet. 73 ad5oo

Ive waited too long for Hsmmmesh or Hamnet firmware, so the check out the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NW-MESH . The NW-MESH group has file repository with lots of firmware wrt's and ubiquity hardware. The NW-MESH is not just a North West mesh group. Im located in the SF Bay and just got an IP block. Time to set this up!

You can use ubiquiti equipment. However, as it stands, you have to compile your own firmware compatible with ubiquiti and manually configure the equipment. |

Negative. OpenWRT's Kamikaze 7.09 (which is what BBHN uses) was made before ubiquiti came into the market, so it is not supported. If BBHN was utilizing newer firmware source code from OpenWRT, it would be supported. It is not a fast task to port BBHN to a newer OpenWRT build, but it can be done (I am slowly working on it). |

Are the items in the NW-MESH repository compatible with BBHN?
