Hi there, I have 2 Ubiquiti devices. One setup as a tunnel server, the other as a tunnel client. They are setup with DtD linking with Vlans and a WAN connection. What IP do I need to forward to on my WAN router for port 5525?

Thanks for the reply,
My modem/router is on my home network and this is connected to the WAN port of a Netgear GS105e switch with Vlans for each device plus back to back linking, so I can't see the IPs of the nodes.

I'm not familiar with the NetGear switches but it should be whatever IP your home router has assigned to the node. The node should ask for an IP from your router (through the WAN Vlan). You should be able to see the addresses that your router has assigned to devices on one of the status pages (on my router it's shown on "lan settings"). Find the IP that corresponds to the node with the tunnel sever and that is the one you want. Hope this helps |

Each node has DHCP enabled so it is a 10.195.... address which the home network can't see.
The WAN address on the node is 192.168.1.126/24.
I tried 192.168.1.126 but that didn't work :-(
What does the /24 mean? |

Look on your node that is the tunnel server, on the status page, get it's WAN address.
(prob something like: 192.168.1.54)
On your home router, setup port forwarding from incoming port 5525 to port 5525 on that IP address (192.168.1.54).
That's it. |

Thanks Darryl,
I have done that but it is still not working.
Could it be because the client and server nodes are configured as DtD?
Regards
Hilary

did a "firstboot" on the tunnel client (Nanostation M2) and reinstalled the client.
Getting an error message on install of the tunnel client:
==============================
Configuring zlib.
Configuring libopenssl.
Configuring vtun.
Collected errors:
* satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-tun:
* kernel (= 3.3.8-1-bbdfd84029335dca3e2e14f66fb51759) *
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kmod-tun.
==============================
It completes the rest of the install without further errors.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hilary

FOR Jim Kinter (K5KTF)... looks like your package repo may not be 100% right after the server rebuild. |
