Hardware: WRT54G v.3 and MacBook (OS X-10.10.5). I followed the instructions and an informative online videos, but ran into trouble at the stage after the software update was uploaded. I then needed to access the menu that setup my node name (the final step). When I tried to call the menu up using "localnode:8080, it failed -- no response. I succeeded working around the localnode problem (on my Mac) by calling up SYSTEM PREFERENCE: NETWORK : ADVANCED : TCP/IP and copying down the router ID that had been assigned. I used <routerID>:8080 (i.e., 172.27.0.1:8080) to call the menu. It worked, and I succeeded to assign a (callsign) node name, password, and trigger a reboot. After completing all aspects of the installation, I am still unable to localnode:8080. I can only get into the menu with the current routerID, calling <routerID>:8080. I hope this helps minimize someone's frustration out there ... 73, Rick, KI4FW |
