Looking ath Amazon, I find this router.

http://www.amazon.com/Cisco-Linksys-WRT54GL-Wireless-G-Broadband-Compatible/dp/B000BTL0OA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1303267807&sr=1-1

But obviously there is no way to call them up and ask of the serial numbers to know if it is the ones mentioned in the other section on this website.  My question is-

Have things progress to the point that we know that WRT54GL routers work as long as that model is ordered?

All versions of the WRT54GL (note L for Linux) work well with HSMM-MESH. (Version 1.0 and 1.1 both work well.) -Glenn KD5MFW

thank you very much for the prompt reply. I'm not at the building stage yet but until I found this site, I always wondered the answer to that question. Then couple that with reading questions and answers on the auctions like I did on one of them today on Ebay where the person asked what the first digits of the serial number were- caused me to wonder just exactly how much it mattered, or if you got the wrt54gl that was good enough, regardless of the serial. Thanks, James
