Good evening folks,
Nice to see an Ohio sub-forum here, even if it's not really for those of us in the northern part of the state. I'm trying to get some of the hams up here going on HSMM-Mesh, but at times I think cats would be easier to herd. :D Hopefully kr0siv will see this and respond, as he's one of the "cats" in question.

Thought about putting up a router here in Elyria Ohio , but there is nothing even remotely close to my location that it would connect to. So my question is would it even be of any value to set something up. If so what would the benefits be ? |

Very new to MESH. Like I just bid on the routers and will find out tomorrow if I get them.
I am from NE OH. (Twinsburg)
I intend to set one up in my location.
I have read all the info that I have been able to find on this system.
But still have a couple questions.
1. When I get my router set up, will it just run on its own once it is set up??
2. Do I have to have a computer connected to it all the time or only when I need to make changes to it.
3. When I connect my computer to it, it should then act like my "Cable Internet" connection ????
Thanks
Bob

Checking in from Geneva, NE Ohio (Ashtabula County).
I have several routers with BBHM and am working on extending the capability to other (more inexpensive and higher quality) hardware.
Hope to link with someone, though so far I've had no luck finding interested parties. |

kr0siv, I suspect it will be like a few of the other ideas we've had. Still, we need to get this going and maybe it will spark some interest in it; talk only goes so far. |
