Hello, All

I now have 2 wrt45s with bbhn firmware installed and I cant get back into them. All my attempts run me into dns server experiencing problems.

I'm using windows 7 and have tried the following with my wifi turned on so I have internet access and it turned off, still dns problems.

I have done ipconfig /flushdns, /release, renew, release6 and renew6. I even tried registerdns, that gives me request need evalutions.

Can anyone point me to a article or even in another direction to figure out what I screwed up or didn't set-up correctly.

Thanks,

Jason Hopkins

(Damn quick reply...grrr editing to correct)

When you do an ipconfig /all, look at the IP and gateway (and other info).

You can try http://{GATEWAYIP}:8080 and see if that works.

If after a /release and /renew you get a 169.x.x.x IP, then something is seriously hosed. You might even try another CAT5 cable.

Also, if you have wifi on the PC, disable it when trying to talk to the CAT5. Windoze still cannot seem to work out dual routing like that. Its better on 7, but still gets cornfuzzed.

And if you disable the wifi, close the browser and reopen it (personal experience).

Have you been able to get back in after flashing to set the node name and password? If not, then look at wifi and see if you see BroadbandHamnetv1 as an SSID. You could connect to it via that to set the node name and password.

Report back with what you find above, and if still stuck.

Sorry about taking so look to reply. Works a mad house and been sick doesn't help either.

I tried a new cat5 cable first and still running into the same problem only different now is every so often when I have explorer try  to fix problem or connection it gives me connectivity issue with the new cat5 cable.  I can ping the gateway and it tx/rx in 1ms with no lost packets

I attached a notepad txt file showing what I get when I type in ipconfig command. The only thing I havnt tried is using putty and try to access that way.

Well, after pulling what little hair out I have I figured out my issue. I tried accessing the one node from my sons computer which has pain in the but win8 on it. Was starting to run into all the same problem again, when all of a sudden it work, I was redirected to status page with all my info.

IN great excitement I plugged in the second node and was able to get it from the first node. Switched over to my laptop and problems started all over. Did everything on my computer I did to my sons and it still didn't work. So with the ending result of My ether card is bad or explorer is a real pain I went back to my son computer. fired everything up to hit a brick wall again, went thru all the steps again and nothing.

The final solution to my problem was for 2 1/2months I have been below noob status. Cause for last 2 months I have been typing in the address wrong and that why I was having access problem. I wasn't adding http:// in front of localnode.local.mesh. Once I did that I have had no problem, other than feeling like a major bozo
