Hi all,

I set up a couple of nodes today. I named them OH3WE-1 and OH3WE-2. They are situated in my apartment's basement and second floor.

When I hook my laptop to either of the Linksys boxes and type: localnode:8080, I see that nodes are connected to each other forming part of HSMM network.

Neighbor node shows as hyperlink (colored blue) which allows me in turn see another nodes web page= setup page. This happens when I power them up. But after a while I am not able to connect the neighbor node at all, browser timeouts or says "web page not available".

I wonder if it is a hardware faut or what? Both routers are WRT54GL ones, originally with f/w V.1.1

Any help would be appreciated.

Kai, OH3WE

Hi, Could be as simple as a nameresolutionproblem. Try to add a dns suffix to your local area connection in windows, austin.tx.us.mesh Also note that nodes will drop in and out of the mesh from time to time and that can also lead to your problem if the statuspage has not been reloaded and shows nodes as online even though they actually are offline. 73sss SM7I

I'm curious as to how your made the links. I'll be taking a node to my local ARES meting this week and i want to have service links clickable. So if i have a webcam server going they click. Poof up. I've seen people post snippets of code and say " well i just added this and i had a link", but they never say where the links code was added and i cant seem to find the code. Thanks. I'll take a down link and having one then not.

Ah hah figured out haw the links were made. Now i have a similar problem to you. I click a link and the service like web server is not port forwarded to :80. I've followed about 12 different how to guides on forwarding. I'm wondering now if its a firewall. the url of the requesting browser does not show a port up in the url address bar.
