Anyone else around in Laurel, Maryland meshing? I've had three nodes up and running for a couple months and not seeing any activity.

More information that's been created for review at http://www.remoteamateur.com/ There's some info from this website plus others - combined an excellent archive of "what you need to know". Looking forward to your participation in our metro areas.

I live in the Odenton Area. Piney Orchard if you know the area. I have one node running. Nothing fancy, but trying to get there. Just got a raspberry Pi configed to HSMM today. Hoping to go mobile once I get some funds together. I dont 100% understand all of this but I am learning. Lots of Youtube watching and website reading.

KC8UD,

Hey it looks like you and I are only about 7miles from each other, Across the Pax. Refuge.  I would think we should be able to have our networks talk to each other.

Email me direct KB3LZV at Gmail.com and we can work on it.

I have two new modes due to be delivered today. Thinking about setting one up with VoIP and maybe a website. The other I am thinking about taking to my parents house along Rt. 50 in the area of Skipton Bridges / Cordova Area. That one I am going to try and work it on nothing but Solar Power.  But there is also a thought of going Mobile with it.

I just dont know.  So many ideas, very limited funds.  LOL

Alive and well in Prince George's County...but we have major terrain issues here with 2.4GHz. I (and many others) have 3 Linksys-based nodes that work on 2.4 (mobile, home, and one ready to deploy), and 6 nodes that will take WiFi cards to work on any band. The County's ARES/RACES would like to MESH the hospitals and health department together, the only issue is that only a few of the hospitals have line of sight with one another (including sites that will contribute tower space to fill the gaps). We must to work on MESHing with another band, or finding locations with higher terrain. One major issue is, that the 6 router boards that will take cards for other bands does not yet have HSMM-MESH firmware; nor do I have instructions to use "stock" OpenWRT and add OLSRd to them. Any assistance is appreciated. 73, KB3VWG

Herein Frederick we are faced with pretty much the same problem. Take a look at using Ubiquiti Devices Ubiquiti firmware for the listed devices is available from the Software Download page, and properly interacts with BBHN 1.0.0 devices. •Rocket M2 •Bullet M2 HP •AirGrid M2 HP •NanoStation Loco M2 (NSL-M2) •NanoStation M2 (NS-M2) These units are less than $100 each and can increase the distances. We are kick starting with 2.4 but I thnk we will build a backbone on either 3 or 5 GHZ.
