I have got Windows NTP server going under Windows 8.1 on an HP laptop.  I have opened port 123 for both input and output.  But neither of my WRT54GL mesh nodes get the time from the server when directly connected to the node.

Both nodes appear to work correctly.  It would be nice for the nodes to know the actual  real time, even without an Internet connection or a directly connected GPS .

My Linux knowledge is rusty so I, and doubtless many other new users, would appreciate seeing a few postings of code used for things people have connected.

Time is set by the /etc/init.d/ntpclient script

This script tried to resolve us.pool.ntp.org every 60 seconds to get a time set

You can modify the script to point to your PC or you can just run ntpclient manually as shown in that script.

(self note: we really should change thay it is a bit abusive on the global pool servers )

Thanks Conrad. I'm going to have to renew my Linux activity. 73, Graham ZL3GSL
