Topic : Tunneling good/bad/has anyone done it?

Hello,

I'm asking to see if anyone has setup a MESH tunnel. Does it work good? Is it common practice or has it been a sore spot because in an emergency or catastrophic event it will go down.

I need some insight. I do not want to do it because of the above reasons, and plus its cheating.

Your thoughts.

If you have an iphone and want to be a beta-tester, I need an email address to add you as a beta tester. Please email me at vk2yj at wia.org.au. Had some problems with email account on server that was blacklisted but all should be fine now. I am uploading app presently and will be ready to enrol beta testers soon.

Here's another schematic of a temperature sensor I've implemented on a remote node:

The ipCam is instrumental to the operations and access ;) .

Topic : TeamSpeak 3 setup

I have TeamSpeak 3 server running on my PC that connects to my node, but I can't think of a way to invoke the TeamSpeak client when it doesn't have a web interface.

I have looked at the other threads on the subject, but they seem to be from long ago before V3.0.1.

Is there any port forwarding I need to set up on the node config?

I have tried connecting via a service using the PC name and the node name using TeamSpeak's port of 9987, but can't get it to work.

If I use the actual TeamSpeak client, I can connect to the TeamSpeak server using the PC name but not using localnode or the node name.

Anyone have this working?

Hilary

I have the following implemented under OpenWrt on a Raspi:

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-raspberry-pi-lesson-11-ds18b20-temperature-sensing/hardware

It should work fine on a linksys gpio port, assuming the drivers are working/available. I'm building a controller to make salt water, change it out, and maintain levels in a 120 gal tank.

I wish I had brought one of my spare nodes with me. I'm on the 20th floor of a hotel downtown. I'd like to have seen if I could connect to you.

I am trying to build the temp circuit for the 54G and am having some issues.  Does anyone have a pointer to a 1 wire interface for RS-232.  It could very well be my construction, I'm going to redo it, but I'd like to try a different interface if available.

I have started developing an iOS app/library to query node for mesh info i.e nodes and services.  This is for when you have wifi connection to your node and it can be contacted at http://localnode.

Is anyone interested in testing this on their local mesh(s) once I get the basics working?

It will eventually form part of an app that is also a file server providing a mobile platform on the mesh. But I want to get the basics working first.

Yes, you will need an iPhone.

Topic : Rig Control FDX?

Hello,

I heard WA8APD's discussion of BBhamnet at Dayton via a video: "Any rig can be remotely controlled by BBhamnet."

My rig is a Hermes SDR.  It uses a Ethernet connection for all rig control.  Everything is UDP.  What is the best way to control this rig with BBhamnet?

Would it be as simple as dividing the Ethernet wires and using four BBhamnet nodes?  Maybe divide the wires from the Hemes Ethernet so one set goes to one router and another to the other.  What about the Ethernet control issue?

At present, I just want to control the rig in my hamshack upstairs with my local PC and a PC downstairs for my son to use it.  Also, only one Hermes receiver is sufficient.

Topic : QOS

Hi,

We have been performance testing our network and it is obvious that our VOIP is failing when links are under stress of large file transfers.

We strictly adhere to a singe codec - G729, it being the only narrowband codec supported by our Cisco 7940s.

Are there any plans to introduce QOS to prioritise  VOIP packet types ? We are nervouse of deploying VOIP as a solution for anything as it is at the moment.
