Ubiquiti Bullet BM2TI Setup
Subject :Titanium Bullet Wired Ethernet Port Access does not seen to work after setting device to AP
Well it appears I have created another fine mess. During the setup in the BBHN firmware I set the device to "Access Point" mode. This seems to remove access via the wired ethernet port. There is a discussion on just this problem but if I am reading it correctly the procedure works with Linksys boxes, not Ubiquiti linked to Linksys. http://www.broadband-hamnet.org/hsmm-mesh-forums/view-postlist/forum-3-firmware/topic-773-changed-node-to-qstandard-access-pointq-cant-get-out-of-it.html It is not clear to me that this procedure can be used to recover the Ubiquiti device. Ubiquiti's site has instructions for restoring the original firmware using tftp. Would it work to use their procedure to return the device to the original state or has loading the BBHN firmware forever blocked that option? I have successfully loaded firmware on Linksys boxes without issue and really am puzzled by the difficulties being encountered with the Ubiquiti device.

Ubiquiti Bullet BM2TI Setup
I have installed the firmware and accessed the setup screen. Upon hitting "save" the screen displayed it would take 60 seconds to reboot. It provided the network address to enter: localnode.local.mesh:8080 or wd4hxg-Sterling.local.mesh:8080 to log back in. I tried both but the timeout message was displayed. Running IPCONFIG revealed a 169.x.x.x address on the RJ-45 port on the computer. See the below take on the Command Line Display where the ipaddress is displayed.

I am currently lost. I have powered down the Bullet and brought it back up. Even after powering back up the default NOCALL-6-173-4 is displayed in the wireless connections window. If I disconnect the RJ-45 Ethernet connection the IP address for the wired lan is not displayed using ipconfig. Reconnecting the RJ-45 the 169.x.x.x address returns.
Any suggestions on accessing the device.
Thanks
Chuck

Yea it takes a little bit before it saves the configuration. Once you get the response you are good to go.

Some logging programs have TCP/IP, if there is no option for logging it that way I would log it as a Packet Contact. That way you can log it and know what it was.

After you click the ADD button you need to click the SAVE button on the upper left. It will then tell you the configuration is saved.

Depending on the model dd-wrt supports a wifi repeater mode.

advertising services
How do I advertise a "service" on one node and have it known by other nodes. I have installed hamchat.pl on my node2 router. I can access the hamchat at http://n8emr-mesh2:8080/cgi-bin/hamchat.pl. I tried to advertise the service on the Port Forwarding, DHCP, and Services page. I set the name, click the check box, set the link URL and path name=hamchat checkbox checked. link http URL n8emr-mesh2 : 8080/ cgi-bin/hamcat.pl then click add. If leave the page and come back I dont see the service listed and I not see anyplace on my node1 where its listed.

Uploaded! http://1drv.ms/1Kd5lYA You may download the video, but please do not upload and share it with others without my permission. Please use it only for your personal use.
Please note: The process works, but some of the information I mentioned was inaccurate. If you would like, you can type "setpasswd abc." I read the called script after making the video and not only does it replace the system password, it also replaces the passwords found in /etc/httpd.conf with the one you specified. |

I did find I needed to power cycle the router for the ham chat software to start working. I suspect recycling the web server might have worked as well. WRT54GL
