POE capacitor supplier?
It is discussed extensively on the webinar located here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YYX5qXVDjs
POE is discussed about 2:25:00 in to the webinar. It is to smooth the power at the far end of the run. I am looking for a good affordable supplier. |

I just used a pair of diodes to prevent reverse polarity. Worked well, are you worried about over voltage? |

I'm not sure I understand this request, protect the node with a capacitor? Are you maybe thinking a surge suppressor? Or are you just wanting to smooth the power at the far end of the run? |

Change fequency to hamradio bandplan
Hi, I have see in Nanaostaion M2 with BBHN v3.02b firmware following info
[ 20.500000] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) [ 20.510000] cfg80211: (2300000 KHz - 2600000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 4000 mBm) [ 20.520000] cfg80211: (5170000 KHz - 6500000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 4000 mBm)
Is it possible setup frequency in ham radio bandplan range ? according to below info from germany hamnet www page (via google translator) https://translate.google.pl/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=pl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdb0fhn.efi.fh-nuernberg.de%2Fdoku.php%3Fid%3Dprojects%3Awlan%3Aregulations&edit-text=

Not yet. But it's planned for an upcoming dot release. I'll likely be able to get my hands on an early beta version for testing. Challenge is finding compatible MIBs for the wireless ports... that are light weight enough to not impact data throughput. Perhaps you'd keep an eye out for OpenWRT work in the area.

I have implement a few snmp based tools, Nagios and some other RRD graphing utilities. Is there snmp support integrated already into the firmware? |

Restoring WRT54GL to original firmware
In the FAQ section it says we can restore to original Linksys firmware by refreshing the firmware download area and selecting the appropriate Linksys firmware etc. Now that I'll be upgrading my mesh ambitions to Ubiquity, it would be nice to return these WRT's to their original purpose but the firmware downloads don't include the advertised packages. ETA:
I guess I should have looked into this a bit further... it appears that others have addressed this issue on the firmware page.

Well done, Corby! Being a network engineer... have you ever done any work with snmp? I'm eager to see the mesh benefit from standard network management tools like Nagios, NetXMS, The Dude, etc. Andre, K6AH |

WRT54GS cannot load firmware
Hi Group, long time no see...
Finally found myself a GS v2.1 and cannot get the image to load in. I keep getting that blasted "Updates are Failed" notice.
I've tried the 1.0 and the new one, also tried updating with a Linksys update (router firmware is 4.1.x) with no luck.
I've tried the 30-30-30 with no luck.. Anyone have any ideas?

How to change Lan IP address?
Hi, I have use NS M2 which is integrated with local AmprNET gateway which have 2 ethernet cards one to internet connected and second to NS M2 main gateway local Mesh Node to get access all nodes to wide AmprNet network. My local nodes use subnet 44.165.33.128 /255.255.255.128 Amprnet gateway on eth1 computer has 44.165.33.1 Ip with connected to NS M2 with LAN IP 44.165.33.2 (255.255.255.252) nad WIFI 44.165.33.254
On NS M2 I have made manually changes via SSH in following:
cd /usr/local/bin vi olsrd-config

push @file, qq( PLParam "suffix" ".ampr.org"\n); push @file, qq( PLParam "dns-server" ""\n); push @file, qq( PlParam "timeout" "300"\n);

stop() { killall ntpclient } ========================
After this changes my NS M2 working as local Mesh Node gateway to AmprNet and I can use SETUP via web interface because it will be overwrite my manually changes. I have switch off firewall and DHCP on LAN because my local network is only part of AmprNet network and we don't have access from 44/8 to -> aaal only 44net<->44net

I've been working on a central tunnel server. It's a work in progress but I've incorporated some cool features, especially a dynamic map that updates as mesh topology changes. You can check it out at www.kd5aeq.net
Zoom all the way out on the map and you can see the tunnels that go into Sweden and Spain.
I wanted to get it more polished before announcing it to the general public but a sneak peak won't hurt. It started out as a web portal for the local mesh in southern New Mexico. I see the potential in growing it out. |

San Diego Mesh Working Group Monthly Meeting
There are several mesh networks sprouting up in and around San Diego County. As a way of gluing these efforts together, Gene Swiech, WB9COY, has arranged for Qualcomm to host a monthly meeting for the San Diego Mesh Working Group. They will be held on the second Monday of each month beginning November 10th, from 7:00 to 9:00pm at 6455 Lusk Blvd, in Sorrento Valley.
There is exciting progress being made in the area, so if you have a local mesh running, are looking for ways to connect to others, or are interested in getting a mesh started then come out for this meeting. Each month we plan to have interesting discussions on design and building techniques, as well as reports and advice from local BBHN Core Team members who are designing and building them. Other So. California mesh groups are also welcome. I hope to see you all there. Andre, K6AH |
