Am I just missing it, or, is there no search functionality in the forums? I see the site search, but, not forum search.

Why dosn't my web page service show up on other nodes?
I have the same problem!!
In the local Lan ( other computers direct ) & in the PC connected to the node, the web page works ok.
But if I try in other node, don't display the home page ( error page don¡t exist ).
Any idea? |

Hi: today by first time, I see the neighbour stations from USA in my station. I am seeing The Swedish stations ok, about 3 weeks, I suppose that Johan SM7I, has completed the link to the USA network. Excelent work, Johan, thanks for your help!! The router now is in test phase in my shack, in a few days I will mount in the roof on the mast reserved for this with a onmi 6 dbs antenna, and put the 2,4 ghz signal in my area. I wait that other Spanish hams will connect in a future. node name : http;//eb5jeq-24:8080 73s.

three questions
Howdy everyone! I just got on the air – mesh – as KW7B-5, with a Ubiquity air Grid M2 HP. So far I see no signals from other mesh nodes. I wanted to ask if there is a polarization protocol for our area? Will the majority of operators going to use horizontal polarization? Or will the polarization priority be vertical? Has anyone tried to reflect signals off of the buildings along the big hill in Portland? The hill with their hospitals is the one I mean. And, are there any social or practical/workgroup gatherings for mesh users in the Portland area?

Interesting. I suppose I could also build an OpenVPN server on a RaspPi with HSMM-Pi and accomplish something similar.
Thinking out loud...
Wondering if this may be a more secure solution and reduce the security vulnerabilities with routing tunneled traffic out the WAN interface and onto a private lan (home network)? |

Running a VPN Server myself, I agree that method SM7I has mentioned is a valuable method to have in your toolbox.
(Greetings from the Netherlands, SM7I! I'd enjoy traveling to Sweden to see and learn about your setup.) |

In Sweden we have now, on trial, installed the Racoon IPSec VPN server on our gateway, which makes it possible to connect to the BBHN/HSMM/AMPRnet network behind the gateway using a regular client such as iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux or whatever.
This gives the opportunety to do a real live demo, among other things, from your clubhouse or such.
We have also connected to a large BBHN network based in New Mexico US, also one node in Barcelona Spain is connected.
We are happy to announce that the system is very stable and reliable. |

Question, when defining multiple vtun clients, what do I need to do to my /etc/config/network file regarding the mtmlink sections...
ie.
Currently, i have: ...
#### mesh to mesh configuration
config interface mtmlink
option ifname "tun0"
option proto none
...
However, I have 4 different tun* interfaces (ie. tun0, tun1, tun2, tun3)
Do I need to change the network file to:
#### mesh to mesh configuration
config interface mtmlink
option ifname "tun0,tun1,tun2,tun3"
option proto none
any guidance from those who have multiple client connection abilities?

I would highly encourage you to skip the 1.1.2 version and go directly to 3.0.0. Yes the 3.0.0 is listed as "experimental", but 1.1.2 has to many problems to be used in a production environment. 3.0.0 has fixed or mitigated the problems and in my opinion is a much better product than 1.1.2. 3.0.0 is not backward compatible with 1.1.2 so the entire mesh will need to update. excellent. Security should always be on our minds. At the onset, not an afterthought.
Thx. |

This is a bit different--there are essentially many routing tables in linux. These are rules in an overarching policy table that basically says which route tables apply to the traffic. Right now all the route tables apply to our tunnel traffic (specifically the routes maintained by olsr). We need to undefine usage of route tables when they don't apply to our tunnel traffic to prevent avenues of attack/exploitation (call us paranoid :) ). This is not something that prevents 'development/testing' of tunnels now, rather something that we need to begin including from a security perspective for permanent or production usage. |

will your routing rules be in the firewall.users file?
I'm working on a script to do the client installation and it does include firewall rules. |

Node map broken?
I tried going to this page so I could see nodes in my area,
http://www.hsmm-mesh.org/googlemapped-mesh-nodes.html
However when I go there no map is displayed and the page says, "You are currently logged in to the private area of this site."
I am logged in to my account KB1WKI.
So then I tried "Contact the Webmaster" and filled out the form detailing my problem and hit submit... and I get redirected to a page that says, "Invalid token".
Any ideas?
