Topic : Anyone running FreePBX and SIPStation together for out bound calls?

Node 2 works 100% via direct ext calling however when I attempt to call out it will dial and ring the number however their is no audio.  Node 1 which is connected to the computer the SIP Server is using works 100% with in/out bound calls.  I'm thinking I have a port forwarding setting incorrect somewhere but not 100% sure.

Problem was solved. Everything was working with the new firmware but at some point the SSID was changed which caused the problem.

I will be in Fremont/Milpitas this Friday, 19th Sept, and can bring down a couple of my nodes. Is the Fremont node still up? approximate QTH? One of my nodes is mounted on a 10 ft wooden dowel with a +18dBi yagi. If you're interested we can sked around lunch time? Call me on 146.52 or call 415 225 9170 Rob NZ6J

Right, dueling DHCP..burned myself on that when trying DTDLinking. And I should have known better too. In your case, do you need the router to do the DHCP work? I'd shut down DHCP on the router, let it be a L2 switch, and put the Bullet in NAT mode and let it be the DHCP server. Configuration would be directly thru the Bullet and seems to work pretty flawlessly, minus the fact you cannot see the mesh status screen thru a remote node. I can just remote into my server and view it locally, but it still seems weird to me. In my setup, I set my Bullet to NAT and have my server directly plugged into the PoE. It's just an XP Pro box running IIS and nothing else. Then set up the node accordingly under port forwarding, advertised services, etc. The Bullet is handling all my addressing and port rules. 73, John W3RC

Just seeing this thread. Here's what I do, which may meet your needs:

1) laptop plugged into linksys Mesh node LAN port (windows, apple, linux, whatever)

2) linksys WAN port plugged into home network -> Internet

3) You can choose to NOT advertise the linksys to be a gateway out to the mesh in setup to not expose the gateway-internet to other nodes (but on your linksys it still routes from your LAN ports).

End result: Your laptop is fully able to community to all 10.x.x.x addresses freely. Your laptop is able to communicate with the internet freely. No internet traffic is going over RF. No other mesh nodes are aware of and do NOT have routing entries that would enable them to use your gateway to the internet. Joe AE6XE

I had a server running on my internet router with port forwarding and moved it over to the mesh and could not get it to work.  Did you have DHCP running?  I did not because I was running it into the LAN port of a router that DHCP running and I couldn't have both.

I tried to switch to 13 direct mode and bricked my bullet for the moment, so I can't try anything.

Thanks.  Their website didn't say whether they used a bullet or not so I sent them an email.

I just could not stand to see this forum with no posts any longer.

A lot of very hard work has gone into making BBHN what it is and I would like to say Thanks!

The PC connected to the Linksys that is plugged I to the ASUS should.

The one connected to the remote node would not UNLESS the mesh gateway box was checked on the one with the internet into the ASUS

Topic : WRT54G v.2 Issues...

Hello all. I have the newer firmware on my WRT54G v.2 router. It defaulted to BroadbandHamnet-v2. I've had it set as a gateway, played with the IRC server package, and all was fine. Upon attempting to setup AsteriskNow on an extra PC, I couldn't get it to resolve an IP address whether set to static or DHCP.

It seems I'm limited to 1 pc on this box. My Windows 7 laptop and desktop connect fine. Neither my PBX machine or my Basictalk ATA will resolve an IP on this node. They do work, however, on my second node, which is a WRT54G v.3 with the newer BBHN firmware.

I'm getting aggravated. LOL. Not much use for the PBX and other stuff if it can't be done remotely. ;-)

I should also that my laptop on the v.2 router seems to do everything I could ask it to, with the exception of any "second device" I'd want to add. The laptop plays away, and no go on the VOIP ATA. Everything works when it's all on the v.3 node.

I wonder what I could be missing?

Topic : DTDLink Co-located nodes

Sorry for the multi-posts, was trying to update nodes, talk on repeater, post note to forum, and watch a 2 year old all at once. And, apparently my cell phone hates me LOL.  So far v3 is running smoothly. RF only, not trying DTDLink yet. I would like to get a baseline of operation first, then take the next step. I'll start a new thread on v3 in the appropriate place if needed and update DTDLink finds here in this post.

Not a problem. Glad to help out. Saw the posting of v3 firmware today so we are going thru our nodes and trying it out on our setup here. Will keep an eye on stuff and report out. We had 1.1.2 running solely on RF and had everything running for 24 hours with no hiccups. I was also thinking olsrd had something to do with the crashes as well. 73, John W3RC
